The first two weekends of January, the action sports winter festival BARBEGAZI, official event of the 375th anniversary of Montreal, was launching the Hivernales and has been the first major gathering of festivities.
The Îlot Clark, in the Quartier des spectacles, has been transformed into a huge free playground. BARBEGAZI is a rolling fire of physical activities to encourage Montrealers to have fun and go outside rather than hibernate. Besides, it was a total immersion in urban culture with its food trucks, urban fire, and so on.
The main attraction of the event is a playful, oversized and technological obstacle course (RFID bracelet), after which the winners of the 10 best performances will share a $5,000 award. The general public (around 17 500 persons) were able to participate in this crazy race, then discover other sports of action: snowskate, woodcutting, arm wrestling, trowing the Christmas tree, etc.
In order to build bridges with other events of the Hivernales, BARBEGAZI and Igloofest allied. A great match that made our arm wrestling game last a little longer, directly on the site of Igloofest.
Tribu Expérientiel is proud to be able to evolve and work on this project with the 375th of Montreal. A beautiful project that has been expanding for 5 years now !
